The Alburgh Volunteer Fire Deparment<\/h2><\/div>
<\/p>\n

The\u00a0Alburgh Vol. Fire Dept.\u00a0is an all volunteer, non-profit organization whose primary goal is to provide Fire, EMS, Marine Rescue, Heavy Rescue, and HazMat Operations coverage to the residents of Alburgh in a safe and professional manner.\u00a0\u00a0AVFD also \u00a0provides \u00a0ambulance services to the residents of Alburgh and Isle LaMotte. For both Fire and Ambulance we also provide Mutual Aid to our neighbors in surrounding towns in Vermont, New York, and Canada.<\/strong><\/h4>\n

The organization has been in operation since it was chartered in 1968.\u00a0 AVFD is unique in that it is not a municipally owned organization but \u00a0is owned and operated by the AVFD members.<\/strong><\/h4>\n

The AVFD is a member of \u00a0the\u00a0Grand Isle\u00a0County\u00a0Mutual Aid Association (VT) as well as the\u00a0Clinton County Mutual aid Association (NY). We \u00a0host the annual North Country International Fire Training School every \u00a0June and we support our community with school presentations, 911 house numbers, Knox Box installation, and CPR and First Aid classes.<\/strong><\/h4>\n

If finances are tight the American Red Cross offer Free Smoke Alarms Installed in your home!<\/strong>
\nVolunteers from the local American Red Cross Disaster Action Teams will install Kidde smoke<\/strong>
\nalarms with a 10 year life battery in your home. The battery does not need to be changed<\/strong>
\nduring the 10 year life of the smoke alarm.<\/strong>
\nIf you live in the Grand Isle County area, please contact us at (802) 309-7960 between the<\/strong>
\nhours of 8 AM and 5 PM to schedule an installation. If no answer please leave a message and<\/strong>
